Market Day – Njiro Branch
On October 18, IBES Daycare hosted a delightful Market Day at our Njiro branch, an event crafted especially to teach our little ones about the basics of buying and selling. With tables neatly set up with fruits, vegetables, rice, and other goods, we transformed the daycare into a mini-market where the kids became little shoppers for the day.
This hands-on event was more than just play; it was an immersive learning experience designed to introduce the kids to everyday life skills. Our teachers guided the children through the market setup, giving each child a chance to select items from the tables, pay for their chosen goods, and even sell to their customers. Through this interactive activity, the children learned the basics of currency, making choices, and social interactions in a real-world setting – all while having loads of fun!
Throughout the day, laughter and excitement filled the air as the kids browsed through the fruits, practiced their counting skills, and learned the names of different items. Watching them decide between an apple and a banana or chat with their friends about their purchases was priceless. It was incredible to see how quickly they grasped the concept of buying and selling, and the event gave them a genuine taste of what it’s like to handle transactions.
As the day came to a close, the children gathered together for a treat – delicious sandwiches and fresh fruit – the perfect end to a fun and educational day. It was wonderful to see them relax and enjoy a meal together.
We’ve captured some heartwarming photos of this memorable day, showcasing the joy and concentration on their faces as they took on the roles of buyers and sellers.
